Hövelmann + Böckenholt is a traditional family business that has always been flexible to the requirements of its customers. Founded in the Empire, our company looks back on over 100 years of successful corporate history.

Our top priority is the satisfaction of our customers. With precise organization, maximum reliability and a committed team, we set standards - and thus clearly stand out from the competition. We have been TÜV-certified according to ISO 9001:2015 since 2013 and have the AEO S status - a clear sign of our quality orientation and our commitment to continuous development.

Our company history

1902
The beginnings

The Hövelmann company was founded in the mining-influenced Duisburg-Walsum, right in the heart of the Ruhr area. Originally including coal trading, a company emerged with a strong sense of family and customer focus - resilient through wars, inflation and economic crises.

1945
The reconstruction

Three Hövelmann brothers lead the company through the post-war period. With energy and commitment, the wheels will soon be rolling again - locally and nationally.

1957
New leadership

Ferdinand Hövelmann takes over the company as sole manager and leads it into a new era.

1971
Realignment

Ferdinand Möllenbeck takes over the company on July 8th. His claim: "We don't want to be just another transport company." Step by step, special vehicles are being used instead of standard solutions - the path to success is clearly defined.

1981
Change of location to Dinslaken

Success is growing - and requires space: The new company headquarters in Dinslaken offers 18,000 m² of space, modern workshops, warehouse and office buildings.

1995
New foundation of Böckenholt Transport GmbH

The acquisition of large parts of Böckenholt Schwertransporte GmbH in Münster - including the branch in Schenkendorf near Berlin - creates a strong specialist for construction machinery transport. Today the location is in Mittenwalde.

2013
Expansion in Hünxe

Opening of one of the most modern heavy goods warehouses in North Rhine-Westphalia. In close proximity to the Rhine rail and the A3, the new location offers optimal conditions for storage and transshipment.

2014
Change of leadership in the family

In June 2014, Ferdinand Möllenbeck handed over management to the next generation. Stefan Möllenbeck takes over the management of the company, supported by his sister Claudia Ernsten as authorized representative and responsible for finance and quality management. The future remains in family hands.
